A Gentle Reframing of How We Perceive Reality
We are used to thinking of the universe as something “out there”—an object to be observed, measured, and understood from a distance. Something separate from us.
Imagine if you will… What we often call “alchemy” can be understood less as the transformation of one thing into another, and more as a shift in the angle of attention through which reality is engaged. When attention changes its orientation, experience itself seems to reorganize—like a familiar room revealing entirely different qualities depending on how it is entered.
In this sense, “what is perceived cannot be separated from the perceiver; perception is not separate from what is perceived”, but participates in the way reality coheres in the moment.
This becomes clearer when we imagine thinkers like Joseph Campbell, Carl Jung, and Stan Lee (of Marvel comics) sitting together in a kind of “cosmic café,” each offering a different lens on the same human impulse toward meaning-making. Campbell sees mythic patterns across time, Jung explores the inner architecture of psyche expressed through symbols, and Stan Lee grounds these archetypes in emotionally immediate human stories like superheroes. Together, they illustrate how different angles of attention do not compete to define reality, but instead reveal it as a living, relational field that continuously reconfigures itself through the way it is engaged.
But what if that framing is incomplete?
What if the universe is not a thing at all, but the living field in which all things arise?
What we call “things” are not separate from the universe. They are the universe, momentarily expressed as distinct patterns within itself.
From this perspective, observation is not something done to reality—it is part of reality expressing itself through countless points of awareness.
Space is no longer a passive container, but the openness that allows relationship, differentiation, and emergence to occur.
And life is not something placed inside the universe… it is the universe, unfolding as participation, form, and experience.
This new Kris workshop isn’t about learning something new… it’s about noticing differently.
Want a fresh approach to Conscious Creation, perhaps even a deeper understanding of some of the same old same old, that puts you in the driver’s seat instead of just being a passenger?
Want to move beyond the Wizard in you and tap into the Sage?
We often think of awareness as something we use… but what if awareness is something we are already within?
And what if…
New Horizons don’t appear because we travel farther… but because we perceive differently?”
We’re used to approaching life in a kind of curated ‘correction mode’ bias — adjusting, interpreting, trying to get things just right. As if somehow the Universe (or if you prefer the YOUniverse) is some type of a vending machine – effort goes in and you expect a specific outcome or result.
But there’s another way of relating…
where awareness is less about defining
and more about participating in a “living field of relationships.”
Conscious awareness is often misunderstood as:
‘I create everything directly’
But what if it’s closer to:
‘I participate in what becomes real for me…
through perception, attention (not only intention), and relationship’?”
A Simple Invitation
“For a moment, simply notice:
- the sound in the room
- your body in the chair
- the space between thoughts
Not to analyze… just to let it register.”
The Horizon Metaphor
“A horizon is not a place you arrive at… it is something that shifts as you move.
So New Horizons of Awareness are not distant territories… but new ways the same reality reveals itself.”
In Closing
“There is nothing here to hold onto…
Just a small noticing:
“Where might I be gently arguing with reality… and what happens when that softens?”
Awareness doesn’t create the world… it reveals how we are already in relationship with it.
“Horizons are never destinations. Each one reached reveals a wider one — not because the previous was false, but because it was never the whole landscape.”
